Ms. Sandkam has over 8 years of editorial and publishing experience.  As Deputy Director of Editing and Prodcution at PAI Consulting, she uses this experience to provide editorial support for PAI’s clients.  She writes, edits, formats, and reviews a variety of technical and regulatory documents for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and aviation industry, including reports, briefing papers, records of meeting, standards, guidelines, handbooks, reference materials, memos, letters, presentations, and Web pages.  She helps create documents that accurately convey information using proper English; the appropriate style standards, including the U.S. Government Printing Office Style Manual, Federal Register Document Drafting Handbook, and PAI in‑house style; and the FAA Plain Language Program.

Ms. Sandkam’s major projects at PAI have included editing and formatting a variety of documents for numerous Aviation Safety Information Analysis and Sharing (ASIAS) programs and the FAA Office of Rulemaking (ARM), including records of meeting.  In addition, Ms. Sandkam has edited and formatted procedures manuals for industry clients, provided onsite FAA exemption processing support, and digitized and processed historic FAA records.

Ms. Sandkam is certified in editing through the University of Chicago and has a master’s degree in publishing through The George Washington University.  Ms. Sandkam also has worked as a freelance editor and for publishers and organizations including Familius; Fifth Wednesday Journal; PhotoFax, Inc.; Editorial Directions, Inc.; and the State Historial Society of Iowa.
