Mr. Chung has worked with a wide range of documents for over 11 years. This experience has honed his editing skills that were forged during eight years of grading student essays.
Mr. Chung has edited and formatted U.S. Air Force technical orders that were converted from hard copy into Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) and interactive Portable Document Format (PDF). Working with the optical character recognition output demanded extensive proofreading to verify data capture. This position also involved meticulous editing to bring all manuals, some dating back to 1945, into compliance with the current MIL-STD-38784 Air Force Style Guide. Mr. Chung developed a portion of the conversion process that applied custom Microsoft Word template styles via keystroke macros.
Mr. Chung has worked on Cisco Certified Training Manuals. He took text and PowerPoint slides from a subject matter expert (SME) and formatted the data to comply with the Cisco Internet Learning Solutions Group (ILSG) template and proper English. This required frequent contact with the SME in order to verify data and phrasing.
Mr. Chung has written, edited, and formatted federal proposals as diverse as Altegrity Risk International’s due diligence for the Securities and Exchange Commission; Tachyon Network’s satellite communications for the U.S. Army; and the U.S. Information Service’s scanning and coding of medical records for the Veterans Administration.
Mr. Chung is skilled in transferring data between disparate programs and is equally comfortable working on Microsoft or Apple operating systems. He has extensive experience using and integrating outputs from Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio; Adobe Acrobat, Pagemaker, and Photoshop; and OpenOffice Write, Calc, and Draw.
